What
information does ByteSizeNews receive
and how do we use it?
When you register for ByteSizeNews or
various ByteSizeNews services, we ask
you for your name, contact information,
preferences, and certain demographic
information. This information lets us
provide personalized services and communicate
separately with you. We also use aggregated
information about the use of our services
to evaluate our users' preferences,
improve our programming, and facilitate
third-party reporting of internet usage.
Finally, like most websites, we use
small bits of data called cookies stored
on users' computers to simulate a continuous
connection. Cookies let us "remember"
information about your preferences and
allow you to move within our Service
without reintroducing yourself. Recent
versions of browsers let you easily
see and control cookies. Specifically,
ByteSizeNews gathers "Registration
Information" when you open an account
which includes, but not limited to:
Your name, address, company, city, state,
zip code, country, phone number, fax
number, email address, your password,
credit card number and expiration date
and other financial information and
optional demographic information such
as hobbies, etc. ByteSizeNews does NOT
release any user information in the
ByteSizeNews account ("User Information")
to any third parties.
May
I choose what information I disclose?
While we need certain information to
register you as a unique user and let
you access personalized services, such
as ByteSizeNews other requested information
is optional and may be given at your
discretion.
May
I choose what communications I receive?
We may choose to occasionally send out
an email newsletter to ByteSizeNews
members to highlight features of the
Service. You can elect not to receive
the Newsletter from us, either when
you register or by noting your preference
in response to communications from us.
Users
who no longer wish to receive our newsletter
or promotional materials from ByteSizeNews
or our partners may opt-out of receiving
these communications by choosing the
unsubscribe option in the email or email
us at
.
Users
of our site are always notified when
their information is being collected
by any outside parties. We do this so
our users can make an informed choice
as to whether they should proceed with
services that require an outside party,
or not.
What
about Special Offers, Site and Service
Updates?
We
send all new members a welcoming email
to verify password and username. Established
members will occasionally receive information
on ByteSizeNews specific products, services,
special deals, and a newsletter.
We
also send the user site and service
announcement updates. Members are not
able to un-subscribe from service announcements,
or special offer announcements, which
contain important information about
the existing or new service. We communicate
with the user to provide requested services
and in regards to issues relating to
their account via email or phone. These
communications include, but are not
limited to, such items as billing information,
upcoming expiration dates on credit
cards used for ByteSizeNews Service payments
or other account information.
What
is the ByteSizeNews Tell-A-Friend program
and how does it affect me?
If
a user elects to use our referral service
for informing a friend about our site,
we ask them for the friend's name and
email address. ByteSizeNews will automatically
send the friend a one-time email inviting
them to visit the site. ByteSizeNews
stores this information for the sole
purpose of sending this one-time email.
The friend may contact ByteSizeNews
at www.ByteSizeTools.com
to request the removal of this information
from their database.

or password you may make this request
by sending an email to privacy@bytesizetools.com.

kind of security is used to protect
my information
We store all user information in secure
databases protected via a variety of
access controls. This data is accessed
only for the purposes specified in this
privacy statement. ByteSizeNews uses
industry standard practices to safeguard
the confidentiality of your personal
identifiable information, including
"firewalls" and Secure Socket
Layers. ByteSizeNews treats data as
an asset that must be protected against
loss and unauthorized access. We employ
many different security techniques to
protect such data from unauthorized
access by users inside and outside the
company. However, "perfect security"
does not exist on the Internet.
Who
has access to my information?
We do not share personally identifiable
data (Registration Data) with other
companies (apart from those acting as
our agents in providing our Service
to you, who agree to use it only for
that purpose). We use information in
the file we maintain about you, and
other information we obtain from your
current and past activities on the Site,
to resolve disputes, troubleshoot problems
and enforce our Terms
and Conditions. At times, we may
look across multiple users to identify
problems or resolve disputes. You agree
that we may use personally identifiable
information about you to improve our
marketing and promotional efforts, to
analyze site usage, improve our content
and product offerings, and customize

information. If you do not wish to receive
these communications, we encourage you
to opt out of the receipt of certain
communications on the using the unsubscribe
link contained within the communication
piece.
Our
Disclosure of Your Information We Gather
When You Register?
Due to the existing regulatory environment,
we cannot ensure that all of your private
communications and other personally
identifiable information will never
be disclosed in ways not otherwise described
in this Privacy Policy. By way of example
(without limiting the foregoing), we
may be forced to disclose information
to the government or third parties under
certain circumstances, third parties
may unlawfully intercept or access transmissions
or private communications. Therefore,
although we use industry standard practices
to protect your privacy, we do not promise,
and you should not expect, that your
personally identifiable information
or private communications will always
remain private.
As
a matter of policy, we do not
sell or rent any personally identifiable
information about you to any third party.
However, the following describes some
of the ways that your personally identifiable
information may be disclosed.
External
Service Providers
There are a number of services offered
by external service providers that help
you use our Site (e.g., co-branded sites,
listing agents, escrow, authentication,
mediation). If you choose to use these
optional services, disclose information
to the external service providers, and/or
grant them permission to collect information
about you, then their use of your information
is governed by their privacy policy.
We may, for your convenience, provide
some of your personally identifiable
information to the external service
provider offering such services. However,
before we disclose your personally identifiable
information to an external service provider,
you will see what data is about to be
sent and have the ability to approve
the disclosure. To prevent our disclosure
of your personally identifiable information
to an external service provider, you
can decline such disclosures or simply
not use their services. Because we do
not control the privacy practices of
these third parties, you should evaluate
their practices before deciding to use
their services. Users who register on
a ByteSizeNews co-branded web site grant
ByteSizeNews permission to pass your
email address back to that co-branded
web site and affiliated web sites. The
use of such information by the co-brand
and affiliated web sites is limited
by their applicable privacy policies.
Internal
Service Providers
We may use internal service providers
to facilitate our services (e.g., search,
discussion boards, surveys) and therefore
we may provide some of your personally
identifiable information directly to
them. In some instances, the internal
service provider may collect information
directly from you (such as the situation
where we ask a internal service provider
to conduct a survey for us). In these
cases, you will be notified of the involvement
of the internal service provider, and
all information disclosures you make
will be strictly optional. In all cases,
these internal service providers' use
of information we supply them is restricted
by confidentiality agreements. If you
provide additional information to an
internal service provider directly,
then their use of your information is
governed by their applicable privacy
policy.
Other
Corporate Entities
We share much of our data, including
personally identifiable information
about you, with our subsidiaries and
joint ventures that are committed to
serving your online application software
needs and related services, throughout
the world. To the extent that these
entities have access to your information,
they will treat it at least as protectively
as they treat information they obtain
from their other users. Our subsidiaries
and joint ventures follow privacy practices
no less protective of all users than
our practices described in this document,
to the extent allowed by applicable
law. It is possible that ByteSizeNews,
its subsidiaries, its joint ventures,
or any combination of such, could merge
with or be acquired by another business
entity. Should such a combination occur,
you should expect that ByteSizeNews
would share some or all of your information
in order to continue to provide the
service. You will receive notice of
such event and we will require that
the new combined entity follow the practices
disclosed in this Privacy Policy.

inquiries, as well as other third parties
to enforce laws, such as: intellectual
property rights, fraud and other rights.

any information about you to law enforcement
or other government officials as we,
in our sole discretion, believe necessary
or appropriate, in connection with an
investigation of fraud, intellectual
property infringements, or other activity
that is illegal or may expose us or
you to legal liability. Further, we
can (and you authorize us to) disclose
